Spicy Thai Beef Salad


Ingredients:

Steak:

3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons chili-sesame oil
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1-inch piece of ginger root, peeled and cut into small chunks
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 pound sirloin steak
1/2 tsp red chili flakes
1-1 1/2 tsp olive oil

Salad dressing:

1/4 cup fish sauce
2 tablespoons chili-sesame oil
1/8 cup fresh mint leaves, thinly sliced, optional
1 serrano chili, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
1/4-1/2 tsp sugar

Salad:

4 cups mixed salad greens
1 small red onion small red onion, thinly sliced
2 tomatoes, cut into wedges

Directions:
Combine all marinade ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.

Pour over sirloin steak and marinate in a covered container or freezer bag overnight in the refrigerator. 

Remove meat from marinade and thinly slice. Set aside in a bowl.

Heat olive oil in a wok or heavy frying pan and add beef. Stir fry quickly until it is medium rare.  If you like your meat fully cooked, keep on heat until completely browned. Do not overcook meat or it will become tough.

Combine all dressing ingredients and set aside.

Arrange tomatoes,onions, and steak slices over salad greens, top with dressing and serve. Enjoy!
